Juvenile Delinquent Crowned Winner of the 2013 Race the Cape

The Juvenile Delinquent was crowned overall winner Monday of the Race the Cape.
Juvenile Delinquent's six crew members, ranging in age from 19 to 26, finished first out of 39 competitors after four legs, covering a total 120 nautical miles of Cape Breton coastline. The J/24 class boat is owned and captained by Ted Murphy of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron in Halifax.
The race was a tourism success for the island, members of the racing crews families explored St. Peter's and stopped in at the St. Peter's VIC to gather information on sites to see around the island while the race was taking place, such as Louisbourg and the Miners Museum and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. While here in the Village they spent time visiting the local museums and attractions. Jerry Gibson Manager of the St. Peter's  did an excellent job of hosting and arranging events in the local are for the sailing event. And from comments made by participants taking part in the race who had never been in St. Peter's before, they had a great time and were definitely coming back.
