Tourism in Richmond County

The cold weather may be here but that does not slow down the amount of fun to be had on the Cape Breton Heritage Coast. On January 14 and 15th, E-Force a leader in Racquetball Technology, will be sponsoring a Singles and Doubles Racquetball Tournment in Port Hawkesbury. The tournment will be held at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, with sessions taking place on Friday January 14th from 6-10pm and on Saturday January 15th from 8am to 8pm. The tournament will cover all skill levels from novice to pro, from juniors to masters. Organizers expect approximately 40 entrants to take part, coming in from across the Maritimes for the tournment. The Civic Centre is the best facility east of Montreal for racquetball because of its high glass walls which provide great visibility. The January Tournment in Port Hawkesbury will be the prelude event for the National Championship Tournment which will take place in Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury in May and is expected to draw 250 participants from across Canada. Anyone wishing to learn more about racquetball and its rules can attend a free clinic at 4pm on January 14th at the Civic Centre. For more information you can contact Dan Smith by email at ranking@eastlink.ca or by calling 1-902-483-2499.
